My Dukan Diet Diary

Read all about my weeks on the Dukan Diet, I've kept a history of everything I have eaten on this diet, documented my failures and successes. I hope you find my dukan diary both entertaining and informative.

My weight-loss goals are:

  1. 69.9kg (a loss of 3.6kg from Dukan starting weight)
    Achieved this on the 19/7/2010 at the end of week 4
  2. 65kg    (a loss of 8.5kg from dukan starting weight)
  3. 60kg    (a loss of 16.5kg from dukan starting weight)

I am 163cm tall and 26 yrs old. The heaviest I have ever been is 76.5kg, the lightest 58kg.

    I thought the Dukan Diet dangerous but read and read and read again your journey.

    1.  Hi Liz, I think your body is telling you it needs to move to the next stage. 3 weeks on Attack is probably way too much, more is not always better. You might just be starving your body.

    1.  Hi there, I have neen on the Dukan Diet now for six days of attack. I haven't weighed myself yet but can definitely feel a difference in my pants sizes! I have had a tough time about it though but I am sticking strong!


  5.  hello, I have been on this diet a few times but i can't seem to get past the first stage. I always lose about 3-4 kilos but then i can't get the motivation to keep going and i always end up going back to normal food and putting on weight again


  6.  I have been on attack for 5 days, though i fell off the wagon yesterday and gave in to Frosties with ice cold milk! i had to. 3 days of cold turkey rattling for carbs wasnt nice. i felt really guilty the next day and now back on track again. i have moved onto the next phase and just had a light salad, and that really helps! i find that keeping your own blog helps. Though this site has been great. Keeping me focussed as i was ready to give in last night! I havent lost an enormous amount, only 3lb in five days but im going to keep on with it. It doesnt help that i have an underactive thyroid gland i suppose!


  7.  Hello from Ireland. I have just started today and I'm not having a problem with protein consumption. Little head ache but what the heck. Very excited reading the Dukan diet life plan book and all the recipes. 2 stone to shift and I have been a serial yo yo dieter. Your blog is super and so personal. Loving it. Feels like I could be chatting to a friend. Losing weight on your own can be lonely at the best of times. I'm in the zone now. :)


  8.  This my 3rd week now and it's going fine, have lost 8lbs so far, the PP days can be a bit boring so looking for recipes for inspiration. :)


    1.  Hi debbie! there are heaps of great receipies online! im so surprised how much stuff u can eat on pp days! i make dukan muffins (see link below) every 2 days and tuck into them when peckish, the oatbran in them is filling and u can also make nice icing by mixing light sour cream (i use weight watchers brand) and sugarless (lower calorie sugar substiture) and it reallys tames the cravings! i also mix oatbran and LSA (avail at coles, safetway etc, grided mix of linseed sunflowe and almonds) into jalna fat free yoghurt, u can also add a drop of vanilla/coconut essence or fat free cocoa to vary it up a bit..also try adding low fat bacon, chicken/turkey/salon into omelettes along with herbs, so yummy and keeps u full for hours and hours, (more than a whole grain cereal thats for sure!!) good luck ,...http://mydukandiet.com/recipes/chocolate-oat-bran-muffins.html


  9.  Hi there! Two months ago, my mother and I were following the dukan diet and I lost 7 lbs. in 5 days (on the pp) and Mom lost 9 lbs! she felt deprived of nutrients and i broes out in blackheads on my face (I usually have a clear complection). We drank a LOT of water and that helped to eliminate the toxins but I don't understand why I broke out? Have you ever heard of something like this?
    Since then I stopped the DD and re-gained the weight Plus a little extra. I now am starting with it again today. Hopefully the breakout was a one time thing!


  10.  Hi just wondering csn I use no fat greek yoghurt in my dukan galette instead of quark?


  11.  yes u can! i find it near impossible to find quark in melbounre! i find it very sour and ive lost 4.8kg using jalna fat free yoghurt, its yummy and one of the lowest in carbs/fat on the shelves..good luck !!


  12.  Quark and fat free fromage frais are hard to find in the regular Cole and Woolworths in Australia. I often substitute cottage cheese, ricotta cheese or non fat yoghurt depending on the recipe :)

  13.  Hi, I have been on the diet for 14days now, and have lost 1 and half kilos. What Gives?????
    I have stuck to the menu and attack phase for 7 days, exercises daily 45 mins minimum. I would of thought I would have lost more by now. HELP!!!! ready to quit


  14.  Cath - I found that I had to do exercise every day..a walk or 30mins on a treadmill. The days I did I lost and when I was slack I stayed the same....Don't quit!! This diet really does work...
