Frequently Asked Questions Dukan Diet

How do I start the Dukan Diet?

The first thing you need to know is how long you need to be on each stage of the diet. The official website has a free Dukan Diet calculator here. You will need to signup to the website (it's free). They offer a personalised coaching service online that you can optionally join.

Once you know how long you need to be on each stage you can browse this website for more information and visit the allowed food list. If like me you aren't ready to by The Dukan Diet book give the diet 7 days and if you are happy with your results buy The Dukan Diet book for the full story.

Why do I have ads on my site?

I have placed a few Google ads throughout my site to help pay for the setup and ongoing hosting costs for this website. Hopefully they will also serve a purpose of bringing useful information to your attention.

     HI new to this diet, my husband has done fantastic following te dukan diet;
    however i'm strugging a bit, being vegetarian, i have limitted foods, i eat fish, tuna, salmon (if it doesn't look like a fish) and crabsticks, eggs also; any ideas for me and other veggi's to widen our food list;
    also i have seen Tomato loo on the free list; may sound daft but what is it???

    1. Are you kidding?

       You're not a vegetarian...

  11.  i am starting tomorow, am a little confused, can u eat how ever much protein ur body needs or should you stick to 50-100 grams per serve and how often?

  12.   have just reached the cruise phase and have looked high and low about the use of broth as well as including one drop-yes, one drop, of roasted sesame oil into the diet. The broth can be a good alternative for those of us that are not huge coffee drinkers but would like a hot beverage. Any ideas? I have checked and rechecked the Dukan website but I find it hard to navigate

  13.  I couldnt see a response to the question re Diet Jelly. Is it allowed on Attack Phase please?
    BTW love this site.

    1.  Sugar free jello (jelly) can be enjoyed in any phase of the Dukan Diet including the Attack Phase. You are allowed up to three portions of sugar free jello (jelly) every day.

  14.  Your website is FANTASTIC. It puts the actual Dukan website to shame. After signing up and 'almost' paying £150 for the coaching, I was more frustrated than anything. Thankfully I cancelled my Dukan account and got a refund. And am THRILLED to bits to find your website. Well done. You should have a section for donations. I'd pay to view your website!

  15.  Hi there! Love your website:) !! Quick question It has been hard for me to find Oat Bran.. I found wheat bran ....and LOVE the cereal "cracklin oat bran" does that work by chance for the daily oat doses? THANKS!!!

    1.  There is no substitute for oat bran.It should be 100% oat bran and nothing else in the ingredients. Have you looked where the hot cereals are? or in the baking aisle? or in a health food store? or in a bulk food store?

    2.  If you live in the UK you can also get Oatbran from Amazon (the best I've tried tho a tad expensive compared to the others), Health Foods, Sainsbury (they do one called Morning Glory tho' I haven't tried it) and of course Dr Dukan's online shop.

    3.  I checked the list of ingredients for the Cracklin' Oat Bran. It has fat and added sugars in it. It would not be suitable for the Dukan diet.

  16.  Holland and Barrett itn the UK sell oat bran.
